$90 million package for injured Victorian workers

On 17 June 2009, the Premier, the Hon. John Brumby, announced the Government's Response to the Hanks Review of accident compensation legislation.

The review, which commenced in December 2007, examined a range of issues and made recommendations for reforms that balanced the needs of injured workers, business and the WorkCover scheme.

The Government's Response sets out its position on the recommendations made in the Hanks Report, and outlines an agenda for reform of the Accident Compensation Act and associated legislation.

The priority for Government has been to respond to the needs of injured workers and keep employer premiums low and competitive in comparison with other Australian states.
